Morning Markets
Strolling around Indonesia's vibrant markets is a great way to get up close and personal with the locals and witness the routines of daily life. Visit Pasar Gede, which literally means “big market”. Located in the Chinese district of Solo, it is the largest traditional market in the city, brimming with the largest selection of fruits and snacks. Opened in 1930, this architectural icon was designed by Dutch architect Thomas Karsten and is a classic combination of Dutch and Javanese architecture.
