Alila Solo Unveils New Tailored Destination Packages
Alila Solo invites travellers to experience the very best of Solo, “The Spirit of Java”, with its new series of 3-day/2-night packages, which offer a tailored journey of cultural, wellness or heritage destination experiences for a truly unique and memorable escape.
The Cultural Getaway
Ancient temples looming out of Central Java’s mystical landscapes provide the most mesmerising sights. This getaway offers an unforgettable visit to one of three UNESCO World Heritage temples located a scenic drive from the hotel: the magnificent 1,200-year-old Borobudur Temple, the world's largest Buddhist monument; the spectacular Candi Prambanan, an 8th century temple complex said to be one of the most beautiful examples of Hindu architecture in the world; or Candi Ratu Boko, located atop a hill within an archaeological site thought to be the remains of an ancient palace.
Guests will also visit two of Solo’s very own temples – Candi Sukuh and Candi Cetho – perched on the remote western slopes of Mount Lawu amid fresh air and gorgeous mountain views, with a stop along the way at Kemuning Tea Plantation that carpets the hillsides.
Solo's Mystical Heritage
Stroll the streets of Solo to discover its secrets and surprises, and experience its mystical energy. Enjoy a session with a traditional healer or tarot card reader, and join Laku Lampah, a group of local volunteers, on private walking tours of the city, visiting its historic sites, mingling in the atmosphere of Solo daily life, and exploring Solo’s rich artisan traditions.
Highlights of the tour include Pura Mangkunegaran, one of Solo’s remaining royal residences; the old town of Gandekan Tengen, home to many home industries; and Padepokan Keris Brojobuwono, where guests can take part in a keris-making workshop. As a major batik centre since the days of the royal court, Solo is the ideal place to learn about the history of Indonesian batik, with visits to the House of Danar Hadi batik museum, founded to preserve this cultural legacy; Kampung Batik in Laweyan, whose back lanes are lined with batik shops; and the house of the late legendary batik designer Go Tik Swan.
Spa Alila Wellness Indulgence
This is one truly pampering escape that’s all about taking time out to relax, renew and recharge, offering an indulgence of heavenly spa treatments in the peaceful sanctuary of Spa Alila. Days unfold in a series of relaxing rituals that include Balinese, Javanese or reflexology massages, a royal herbal bath, a luxurious body scrub, as well as an Avocado & Coconut hair ‘smoothie’ and head massage, interspersed with invigorating wellness activities, including a private gym session, and daily yoga or Pilates.
