Key Regional Appointments as the Group Continues to Grow

Alila Hotels and Resorts, a luxury operator with boutique hotels and resorts in India and Asia Pacific, have made two key regional appointments in line with the company’s expansion plans. Julian Ayers joins Alila as Regional Vice President for India and the Middle East while Sean Brennan has been promoted to Regional Vice President – South East Asia.

Alila currently have 25 new developments in the pipeline; seven of which are due to open in the next two years. In addition the company will enter into China and the Middle East, and open further hotels and resorts in Indonesia and India.

In their new roles, Julian Ayers and Sean Brennan will oversee their respective region’s day-to-day operations, sales and marketing activities and manage future growth strategies. They will be working closely with their regional development teams to help execute Alila’s growth plans in the key markets of India, the Middle East and South East Asia.

Already a key member of the Alila family, Sean Brennan joined Alila in 2007 as the opening General Manager at Alila Villas Uluwatu to launch the new crafted luxury brand. Under his leadership, the property has achieved significant success and much recognition for its service quality. His extensive experience in Asia was cultivated from some of the world’s largest hotel chains in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bangkok and Seoul.

With 25 years of hospitality experience under his belt, Sean will oversee all seven Alila villas and resorts in South East Asia.

Julian Ayers has a wealth of experience from various international management positions in India, Oman, the Caribbean, Indonesia and the UK. His most recent role prior to joining Alila was as General Manager of the Ros Hotel managed by Hilton Hotels in Delhi, India.

In 2014 Alila is scheduled to open two new properties, Alila Jabal Akhdar in Oman, marking the group’s entry into the Middle East market, and Alila Fort Bishangarh in Jaipur, both of which will fall under Julian’s remit.
