Perched atop a stunning seaside bluff along one of Southern California's most dramatic stretches of coastline, Alila Marea is an adult-centric sanctuary that embodies the soul of California beach culture, just steps from six miles of sun-kissed sand and the hip community of Encinitas.
Alila Marea’s beachfront resort location makes for sublime relaxation and endless adventure. The resort offers a unique opportunity to experience one of California’s greatest natural attractions – the Pacific Ocean – and the adjoining coastal wetland of Batiquitos Lagoon, a beautiful spot for hiking in nature.
The glistening ocean vistas that accompany every moment of your stay are sure to inspire a state of bliss. And with direct access to the soft golden sands of South Ponto Beach and one of the world’s top surf spots at your feet, you can’t help but feel Southern California’s deep connection to the waves.
San Diego’s 70 miles of Highway 101 are dotted with beach towns, none more charming than Encinitas, where you can immerse in a vibe that is refreshingly unpretentious, artsy and chill. Discover a balanced approach to the good life in an eclectic mingling of sidewalk cafes, casual restaurants, boutiques, galleries, and a thriving arts scene. Take in a show at La Paloma Theater, which has hosted many a Hollywood celeb in its time. Known as the flower capital of the world, Encinitas is also home to the San Diego Botanic Garden offering four miles of flourishing trails.
Whether riding the consistent ocean waves, biking along the scenic coastline, swimming and bodysurfing, practicing yoga, or simply relaxing and reflecting with a glass of wine, Alila Marea offers an adult-focused escape that can be as laidback or as active as you choose.
