For the Ventana team, “sustainability” isn’t merely a buzzword; it’s a way of life. From property-wide recycling programs and low-flow faucets to the use of native landscaping elements, we are committed to being the epitome of an eco-friendly California resort.
Ventana’s vast number of green initiatives include an extensive property-wide recycling program for everything from paper and aluminum to waste oil; water reclamation for landscaping; furniture constructed from fallen redwoods; charging stations for electric vehicles; LED lighting; landscaping that features drought-tolerant and/or native species; and even on-property housing for more than 40 employees, helping to reduce traffic and vehicle emissions.
Our efforts also extend to our food and beverage operations. As a member of the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch program, we adhere to guidelines on buying and serving seafood from sustainable sources. Whenever possible, The Sur House serves local, sustainably sourced organic vegetables, fruit, seafood and meat. And our coffees and teas are all fair-trade organic.
