Alila Seminyak is strongly committed to social, cultural and environmental responsibilities, which we regard as essential for sustainable business. In all activities, we aim to respect and preserve the way of life and traditions of local communities and endeavour to minimise our impact on the environment by adhering to a policy of environmental sustainability.
We are proud that Alila Seminyak has embraced environmentally sustainable design (ESD) principles and is one of the resorts in Indonesia to receive the highest level of certification from EarthCheck as a Best Practice Building Planning and Design Standard (BPDS) development. This is demonstrated through sensitive site planning and the incorporation of many ESD measures including the use of local/sustainable/recycled materials, water conservation with soaks and rain gardens, wastewater management system, local plants from the region, protection of the natural environment and measured work practices throughout construction. We are also targeting to offset our carbon footprint through the development of alternative energy projects such as solar and wind, and through financial investment in credited sustainable plantations and verified community projects.
In the spirit of giving back to our community, we have nominated the following two worthy causes for support:
Two Neighbouring Elementary Schools
We support two local elementary schools in Kerobokan where our resortis located: SD Negeri 1, a pioneer of children’s education in the area established in 1951, and SD Negeri 2, established in 1965.Financial aid helps support curriculum development, student participation in competitions as well as the development of creative spaces such as a library, art class, computer and science laboratory.
Anak-Anak Harapan Children’s Home
A home and refuge for 80 less-privileged children, the Anak-Anak Harapan Children’s Home in Dalung, North Kuta was founded in 1974, providing a hopeful future for economically disadvantaged children of all ages, from toddlers to university students. The home’s vision is to equip and empower the children physically, emotionally and spiritually for adulthood with a focus on providing education, as well as developing their ability to serve their communities.
