10 February 2014

The soon to be opened Alila Seminyak surpasses Earthcheck Global standards in Building, Planning and Design Certification, scoring well above industry norm. The final assessment in EC best practices, places Alila Seminyak at the forefront of ecological tourism developments.

Due to open at the end of 2014. Alila Seminyak will feature 240 rooms in a lush tropical setting combining the cosmopolitan buzz of popular Seminyak.

Its pristine beachfront location on Bali’s southwest coast is home to designer boutiques, art and antique galleries, trendy nightspots, fine dining establishments and uber-chic cafes – minutes from popular hotspots such as Ku De Ta, La Lucciola and Potato Head. A perfectly located private hideaway.

Its contemporary-styled rooms will range in size from 46 to 177 square metres, amongst these are ‘The Suites’, an exclusive collection of rooms and one spectacular 811-square-metre penthouse, which are available for sale. The real estate components are distinguished by generous living spaces and luxurious comforts that exude the feel of a private home. The resort amenities also includes beachfront restaurants and pools, Spa Alila and extensive events space.

Conceptualised by architects URBNarc, Alila Seminyak has been designed as a private garden, connected by an extensive labyrinth of green corridors and natural landscaping with rooftop pools and gardens. This greening environment helps in the reduction of energy consumption.

The hotel construction includes the use of locally sourced, recycled and reclaimed building materials including architectural, landscape and interior finishes. In addition, low energy light fixtures, rainwater harvesting, environmental and building management systems have been implemented.

The entire development has been constructed following strict sustainable design principles and guidelines which will follow operational Earthcheck standards.

Alila Seminyak will be the first resort in Indonesia to surpass the rigorous EarthCheck Building, Planning and Design standards, achieving a 44 point best practice score against the industry norm at 5 points. This means that Allila Seminyak (particularly in Australasia and Indonesia) is a leading development regarding sustainable development and long-term ecological improvement performance.
