I read with keen interest a write up on your website regarding Alila's use of virgin coconut oil as a carrier oil for your massages.
The numerous benefits were rightfully highlighted and I am impressed with Alila's belief in using natural oils for massages. The typical carrier oils used by most spas are sweet almond for its odourless nature, and sesame seed oil for it's widely available and economical factors. Few, no doubt increasing number of, spa joints are experiencing with this 'new-age' oil, i.e. coconut virgin oil.

The Spa at Alila
Ubud has won the Gold Award in the Best
Resort Spa overseas category in Holidays
for Couples Magazines Readers Choice
Awards.
Voting was opened to the public only
and no industry professionals were allowed
to vote. This is a fabulous accolade
given to the resort from guests who
have personally stayed there. The awards
are designed to recognise excellence,
and as such the judging system used
is qualitative rather than quantitative.
The public is asked to rate five categories,
ranging from ambience/decor, to standard
of service/staff. Gold, Silver and Bronze
winners are those who have the highest,
second and third highest overall percentage.

Alila
Manggis - Dive Experience at Manta Point:
“Yes, the manta rays were really amazing...it's
a really wonderful experience when you
get to see one, like time stands still.
throughout the dive there were about
12 that appeared one by one (!!!!),
and although the water was very cold
and we were all hugging ourselves, none
of us wanted to come out! When they
appear, it's like a large underwater
spaceship....but too graceful to be
a real spaceship!”
