To promote our community relationship we are committed to selecting the majority of our employee’s from the local area and region of Badung Regency. We utilise fresh local products from our organic garden in the first instance and where these are not available, purchase goods and services from local suppliers with a preference to those in profit sharing co-operative organisations.
Employment Policy
For recruitment, Alila Villas Uluwatu is committed to give the first priority to the neighbouring banjars surrounding the resorts and to employees living less than 20 km from the hotel operation. We also welcomes Tourism students who wish to do a traineeship programme.
Commitment to Local Sourcing
Do you know that all the fresh fruits and vegetables available in the hotel are supplied locally? Not only that, most of our room amenities and products available in our Alila Gallery boutique such as soaps, shampoo, slippers as well as the Spa Alila products are produced in Bali and many of them through village cooperatives supported by Alila. We, at Alila realise that purchasing goods that are made locally benefits our own community economically, not to mention the environment, by reducing the amount of transport needed to get goods to a location. For that reason, we prefer working with vendors who also adopt a sustainable approach to their operations. We do so through encouragement, agreement and regular evaluation with our existing suppliers and new ones. We encourage our suppliers to reduce their packaging and waste when sending their goods to us by bulk purchase orders.
Respecting Local Culture & Supporting Local Development
To stay at any of Alila's hotel or resort is to take on a memorable journey into the local culture for a total destination experience. Whatever the guest’s personal interests are, new experiences are waiting. Whether learning to recreate the flavours of the local cuisine, enhancing well-being through ancient healing arts, or tasting the thrill of adventure sports, our guests will get to see and learn the real Bali and its people. Through our Alila Journeys, not only that we encourage the guests to get to know the Balinese culture and local customs but at the same time we also support the local businesses and community to grow.
