To promote our community relationship we commit to select the majority of our employee’s from the local area and region of Karangasem regency.  We utilise fresh local products from our organic garden in the first instance and where these are not available purchase goods and services from local suppliers with a preference to those from profit sharing co-operatives organisation.

We invite our guests to join us in the following moves:
• Support local village co-operative projects by taking home gifts of our beautifully packaged coconut soaps.  Spa Alila soaps can be found in our Alila Living boutique.  
• Immerse yourself in Balinese culture with a visit to one of our local temple ceremonies with our Leisure concierge who is happy to share with you the spiritual, communal and social rituals and practices of these blessed people.

Commitment to Local Sourcing
Do you know that all the fresh fruits and vegetables available in the hotel are supplied locally? Not only that, most of our room amenities and products available in our Alila Living boutique such as soaps, shampoo, slippers as well as the Spa Alila products are produced in Bali and many of them through village cooperatives supported by Alila. We, at Alila realise that purchasing goods that are made locally benefits our own community economically, not to mention the environment, by reducing the amount of transport needed to get goods to a location. For that reason, we prefer working with vendors who also adopt a sustainable approach to their operations. We do so through encouragement, agreement and regular evaluation with our existing suppliers and new ones. We encourage our suppliers to reduce their packaging and waste when sending their goods to us by bulk purchase orders.

Contributing to Local Community
Besides encouraging local people to apply for employment and partnering local suppliers, Alila Manggis makes monthly donations to the local banjar and activiely supports and participates in social activities such as Clean Up The World and Earth Day.
