“Success is not a state of mind to arrive at, but rather a manner of travelling.” This is the mantra Karen lives and works by, and which has taken her from the Highlands of Scotland where she was born, to the tropical islands of the Maldives. Delivering the absolute highest standards of hospitality has been her driving passion for more than 20 years. She started out in management positions at several boutique hotels in the UK, before moving to the Maldives. There she was Executive Assistant Manager of White Sands Resort & Spa, and prior to joining Alila, the Resident Manager of The Rania Experience, a highly exclusive, luxury private island residence that is a refuge for the rich and famous. Karen now leads the team at the all-suite Kemang Icon by Alila.
