"I was very fortunate on a recent trip to Oman to stay at the stunning Alila Jabal Akhdar resort, what an incredible setting. While there I did the Lost Village Trek, which was incredible and definitely in my top 5 walks in the world"
Michel Poletti, Founder and Race Director of UTMB, Chamonix, France
“Lets go walking on the clouds!” I effectively drew my 9-year- old daughter Aiyana out of her bed at the Alila Jabal Akhdar; a bliss fully remote resort that clung to the cliff edge at a dizzying 2980 meters high on the wildest terrain in Oman.
Alila Jabal Akhdar is a design-forward hotel. Its 86 beautiful rooms and suites occupy separate buildings made of locals tone to echo traditional Omani architecture and blend seamlessly with their surroundings.
Our second, The luxurious Alila, is built from dark limestone and blends in effortlessly with the surrounding mountains…
As smooth as the traditional Omani coffee I'm served while my bags are whisked to my room. The cold flannel is a nice touch…

TTG UK 2015
The stark landscape seems an unlikely venue for fun and relaxation in the fine company of the Arabian Gulf’s most hospitable people, but now that the impressive Alila Jabal Akhdar has opened its doors, it has become the norm.
Alila Jabal Akhdar has been awarded LEED Silver Certification in the Building Design and Construction rating system for new Construction by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), making it the first LEED certified project in the Sultanate of Oman.
This was somewhere to come to slow down. The hotel puts great emphas-is on well-being. It has a fabulous spa. And the rucksack which I found waiting for me in my bedroom quietly hinted at the sort of activity on offer…

Harper’s Bazaar – Singapore
The most striking thing about Jabal Akhdar, the newest opening from the fantastically smart Alila gang, is what’s missing: noise. Stand on your balcony, 2000 metres above sea level, overlooking a plunging precipice, and only a whisper of a breeze disturbs the peace.

Taking its name from ‘The Green Mountain’ in Oman‘s stunning Al Hajar mountain range, Alila Jabal Akhdar is the latest addition to the luxury hotel brand’s portfolio. Sleek design sits in striking contrast with the raw and rugged backdrop, while within the traditionally constructed stone walls, the Juniper Restaurant serves up modern Arabic cuisine to jaw-dropping views.
Food and Travel, French
The brand-spanking-new Alila hotel perches 850m above sea level, neatly overlooking a dramatic gorge, in the skyscraping Al-Hajar mountain range. It's rugged and remote, but surprisingly green - each sheer ridge dotted with wild walnut, juniper, and olive trees. Every inch of the hotel's aesthetic is inspired by the dizzying landscape: think super-styled futuristic Flintstone-esque buildings - all local stone and dark wooden beams.

Field of Dreams

The rugged mountains gleam
In a circle of wild purity
Beckoning my eyes
To the depths of the stony ravine
The blue skies above
Now dyed crimson
From the rays of the setting sun
The turquoise blue water
Of the pool entices me
To submerge myself in it's cool embrace
The scrawny bushes standing tall
With pride and gently swaying
Their hips in the desert mountains
My mind slows unwinds and relaxes
In this wild arena
As I wake up in
My field of dreams

Thank you so much for your generous hospitality at your stunning Alila Jabal Akhdar, none of us wanted to leave the serenity and peace you've enhanced through such creative design and planning. I have absolutely no doubt that it will be a massive success and a total sell out for much of the year. Spa Alila Manager, Ami is a treasure and the Sound Treatment was absolutely incredible and made me understand chakras properly for the first time in as much as it actually made sense at a personal level.
Sarah Siese, Managing Director, St Christopher's Publishing Ltd, UK
