Alila Diwa Goa: This infinity pool, which overlooks lush paddy terraces in South Goa, was constructed with climate and topography in mind: air passing over the pool cools down its way into the common areas of the resort. There are relaxation decks at various levels, which merge into the Edge Bar, taking you seamlessly from sun-bathing into happy hours.

SINGAPORE TATLER – 2015
You know that feeling of lounging on a relaxing beach chair, floating in a pool that has no edge, shades on your eyes to keep the sun out, the wind ruffling your hair, a cocktail in your hand, lush rice paddies stretching out into the horizon? Yeah, I didn’t know it either. Until I found myself in Alila Diwa’s infinity pool – treading the thin line between Goa and heaven.

Balinese chic meets South Goa at the Alila Diwa. Here, kids have their own kids’ club and teen zone, an outdoor play area as well as their own children’s pool. Better yet, once the tykes are tucked in, kick up the romance a notch with a private dinner on the beach. Everyone is happy at the Alila Diwa.

The hotel is set across several acres amid the lush greenery of paddy fields and palm trees. We are lucky enough to secure a room with a view: the category is a Loft Room, with a balcony that looks out over the roofs of the hotel and then further out across the paddy field where now, in the dry season, cows share the space with wild boars and storks.

We loved how this kind of dining took us away from all the distractions – phone, music, other diners – and pour all our energies and our attention on the food. Eliminating sight from the equation heightened our four senses and all of them worked together to give us a wonderfully enriching experience.

It had the sort of vibe that suited Goa’s southern half, which is known for being the quieter, more chilled-out sibling of the raucous, party-central north. Quiet, and with gentle music adding a soothing soundtrack to the smiles of the staff, the hotel is a haven.

A delightfully eloquent steward called David walked us through the verdant grounds overlooking rice paddies and palm trees, to the exclusive Diwa Club, a resort within a resort, where we were to be staying. Lee and I giggled like teenagers as we were shown to our room, and I had to hold myself back from bouncing on the bed in glee; not because I felt I should be more ladylike, but because I couldn’t bear to spoil the pristine, marshmallow soft arrangement of pillows and crisp, white bedlinen.

Alila Diwa truly lives up to culinary expectations with the perfect team of dedicated chefs spearheaded by the right talent, and the list is endless as far as their culinary track records grow with everyday added innovations and signature dishes, this is by far the most I have eaten on a holiday.

Guest Testimonials

My mother and I joined the 5 day detox at the stunning Alila Diwa resort during March 2016. We were truly amazed by the quality of the programme which was very tailored to suit our needs. The massages were absolutely fantastic and relaxing, the yoga and fitness sessions challenging and rewarding at the same time and each of the sessions with Dr Arjita and her trained team very insightful. The beautiful Dr Arjita inspired both my mother and myself and after numerous sessions helped to heal the rifts that had formed between us over time. We feel much stronger emotionally and physically to deal with our stressful day to day lives. We have only positive words to say about the whole experience which we will remember for a very long time. Thank you Alila Diwa and Dr Arjita!

I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation again for the excellent service we received during the "International Dialogue", which was held at your hotel in cooperation with the Indian Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. As facilitator of that Dialogue, it was a particular pleasure for me to work with your banquet manager, Mr. Franklin. He and his team were extremely friendly and attentive at all times, always providing excellent service and responding quickly and effectively to any requests that we expressed during those days. Please extend my best wishes and sincere "thank you" again to Mr. Franklin. Overall, it has been a pleasure to stay at Alila hotel in Goa, and I will certainly recommend your hotel to others.

Our events at Alila were a roaring success - we continue to get applauding messages from our guests. We, as well our guests, could sense the perfection to detail and exquisite execution of every dish at all our events. We must say, Alila - 'Thank you' for the two angels in your kitchen - Mr Kadam and Mr Manjeshwar.

Loved the place. The staff are all friendly. If you take the time to talk to them they have a lot of knowledge about what is good to see and do. Food in the restaurant was amazing. The pool is beautiful, beach is very clean and almost free from hawkers. Spa is amazing too. Loved the room, very comfy bed, and superb shower! Only just back and already want to go again.

A great hotel in South Goa. Had a great buffet breakfast with a decent variety. The business center was especially useful with helping us plan our further travels through India. We really enjoyed the pool with some lounge chairs in the water and especially enjoyed the room with its sliding walls and massive bathroom. Would stay here again.
